    When you're elected or re-elected, what will be your top priority? Why?

     

    Uniting a city that’s divided. It’s time our young generations got involved with all city events and community policing.

     

    If you're elected or re-elected, how will you involve your constituents in the process of making decisions?

     

    Constituents should be offered the opportunity to connect with the towns local departments by joining in on meetings and community events.

     

    Why should voters choose you for the position you're running for?

     

    Voters should choose to elect me because my dedication is to the Town of Ayden in the citizens that resided within. I’m a public servant, no politician.

    I’m a public servant.

    Is there anything else about you that you wish to tell voters?

     

    I’m no politician; I’m a public servant that’s here to serve the citizens of Ayden and I’d like to continue to serve and be that voice for the people. Vote to elect Daggs as Mayor of Ayden.

    Your current job and title:

     

    I am a Realtor at Century 21, The Realty Group. I have been an integral part of the real estate landscape, helping countless families find their dream homes, and have contributed to the growth and development of the Ayden community. The most important title I hold is that of Husband and Dad. I am celebrating 22 years of marriage to my beloved wife, Toni. Together, we are proud parents of a bright and talented daughter, currently rising through the ranks at Ayden Middle School as a sixth grader.

     

    Your highest level of education:

     

    I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in History, which fueled my passion for understanding the past and its impact on shaping communities. (Go Pirates!)

     

    If you're elected or re-elected, what will be your top priority?

     

    My top priority as Mayor will be enhancing Ayden’s legacy. I plan to accomplish this through economic development, promoting social events, participation and collaboration, and by supporting local businesses. A thriving local economy uplifts the entire community. I will work diligently to create a business-friendly environment, attracting new enterprises and fostering entrepreneurship to boost Ayden's prosperity.

     

    If you're elected or re-elected, how will you involve your constituents in the process of making decisions?

     

    As Mayor, I will be accessible and approachable by having an open-door policy. I welcome citizens to share their ideas, concerns, and suggestions and will actively listen and engage with the community to ensure their voices are represented. By fostering collaboration between various community groups and organizations, we can strengthen the town's bonds and create a sense of togetherness.

     

    Why should voters choose you for the position you're running for?

     

    Together, with the residents of Ayden, I envision an even brighter future for the town- one built on the foundation of unity, progress, and shared values. I have a wealth of experience and extensive community involvement, and my commitment to community service is unparalleled. I actively serve on multiple boards, including the City Planning Board for Ayden, where I play a crucial role in shaping the city's future. As chairman of the board for Mainstreet Downtown Ayden, I strive to revitalize and preserve the town's historic charm while fostering economic growth.

     

    Which three things about you do you most want voters to know?

     

    1. My primary goal is to foster an environment where every citizen feels heard, valued, and represented in the town's governance. To accomplish this, I will have an open-door policy, welcoming citizens to share their ideas, concerns, and suggestions. I will be accessible and approachable and will actively listen and engage with the community to ensure their voices are represented.

    2. Local businesses form the backbone of Ayden's identity. I pledge to provide the necessary support and resources to empower local businesses, ensuring their growth and sustainability. A thriving local economy uplifts the entire community. I will work diligently to create a business-friendly environment, attracting new enterprises and fostering entrepreneurship to boost Ayden's prosperity.

    3. Ayden's legacy is rooted in its history and traditions. The campaign is dedicated to supporting and advancing the Ayden African American Ancestral (4A) Cemetery and existing cemeteries, preserving the town's rich heritage for generations to come.

    I am a retired automotive manufacturing supervisor.

    My highest level of education is college.

     

    If you're elected or re-elected, what will be your top priority? Why?

     

    If I am elected, my top priority will be to ensure Ayden’s thriving growth model is improved and remains successful. This is my top priority because I understand how a rapidly changing economy can impact the livelihood of our citizens. If elected mayor I will pay close attention to details to ensure our growth plan does not derail. My platform is to Implement new alternatives to lower utility cost, expand Ayden’s current smart growth model, continue to support townwide business revitalization efforts and update Ayden’s EZ Call crime prevention program.

     

    If you're elected or re-elected, how will you involve your constituents in the process of making decisions?

     

    If elected I will continue to encourage constituents to participate in monthly meetings, town forums, serve on town boards and engage in other town activities. I believe our citizens are important and one of our greatest assets.

     

    Why should voters choose you for the position you're running for?

     

    Voters should choose me as their mayor based on my years of experience and leadership abilities. I have an extended record of dedicated service not only to the citizens of Ayden but the citizens of Pitt County as well. Additionally, the eight years I have served as Vice Mayor (Pro-tem) of Ayden has given me greater political experience than the other three mayoral candidates combined.

     

    Which three things about you do you most want voters to know?

     

    The three things about me I want voters to know is that 1.) I am a family man that believes in God. 2.) I am empathetic and committed to community service. 3.) I believe in the slogan I created, “Working Together Works.”
