("C" combines Districts 4 & 5. See map.)
Mac Manning
Your current job and title:
Retired Pitt County Sheriff
Your highest level of education:
B. S. P. 1981, East Carolina University, Social Work and Correctional Services
If you're elected or re-elected,what will be your top priority?
I will strive to be a good steward of our tax dollars and county resources, ensure the highest standards in county services and promote economic progress for all citizens.
Why? To maintain the highest standards possible in the delivery of county services.
If you're elected or re-elected, how will you involve your constituents in the process of making decisions?
I will be available and responsive to individuals and groups to hear concerns, receive feedback and help with any matters involving county government.
Why should voters choose you for the position you're running for?
My years in public service have given me experience and understanding of the role our county government has in improving and preserving our quality of life.
Which three things about you do you most want voters to know?
1) My desire is to be an advocate for citizens who feel their voice is not being heard when navigating county services in seeking solutions to personal and/or community problems.
2) I have past service as a volunteer firefighter, emergency medical technician and rescue squad captain. I admire and will support those who volunteer in these capacities.
3) I am an active member of Saint James United Methodist Church and University City Kiwanis Club. I am a Sudan Shriner, a 32nd degree Mason, with over 25 years as a member of Crown Point Lodge 708.
Is there anything else about you that you wish to tell voters?
I want my fellow citizens to know that I appreciate their votes and support. I look forward to this opportunity to serve as their commissioner for District C.
